Escalating Resistance

In the days after the July 1 protests began, students intensified their campaign. From July 7 to 10, 2024, thousands of students carried out the “Bangla Blockade” — boycotting classes and blocking major highways, railways, and key intersections across the country, including Shahbagh in Dhaka, bringing city traffic close to a standstill.
